What to expect
A week in the life at camp
Step inside an MMSI Classic Camp and see how our swimmers grow, both in the pool and as all-round individuals. Every day balances high-quality coaching with fun, challenge and inspiration — building skills to last a lifetime.
Day 1
Settling in and first strokes
AM:
SWIM) Dive straight in and get to know your coaching team for the week! You’ll cover some of the essential skills you need to excel in the pool, including streamlining, rotation speed and underwaters.
LAND TRAINING) Your first land training session will get your heart rate going with a focus on some of the key movements that translate from the pool onto land.
DODGEBALL) Step onto the court and enjoy a game of dodgeball with your fellow campers – working on your reflexes, strategy and teamwork beyond the water.
PM:
SWIM) Refuel at lunch, then sharpen your front crawl with drills designed to improve technique and efficiency.
LAND TRAINING) Next, dry off and push your endurance to the max with our intensive circuits.
YOGA) Slow down, relax and learn the importance of recovery with an afternoon yoga session. Yoga teaches focus and balance, lessons you’ll carry far beyond the pool.
Day 2
Building strength and team spirit
AM:
SWIM) It’s time to test your limits with a threshold set – push your pace, challenge your endurance and discover what you’re truly capable of under the guidance of our expert coaching team.

Follow up with a stretch and mobility session to cool down, relax and ensure you recover properly after an intense morning.
TUG OF WAR) Game faces on for your first team challenge of the week with our MMSI camp tradition, tug of war! You’ll be split into countries for the true Olympic experience.
PM:
SWIM) We’ll begin the afternoon by covering the essentials of starts and turns to give you that all-important edge in the water.

LAND TRAINING) Head to the Strength and Conditioning suite to learn how athletes train at the highest level and make the most of the first-class fitness equipment.

Day 4
Teamwork makes the dreamwork

SWIM) We’ll be going short, sharp and speedy this morning with sprint work, learning how to be quick in the water.
WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL) Experience sport from a different perspective with this camp favourite.

WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL: TEAM CHALLENGE 2) Compete for your country and earn points in our second big challenge of the week.
PM:

TEAM ACTIVITIES) Gather with your teammates for a final team talk ahead of race day. Enjoy your last night in camp and celebrate everything that camp is about: resilience; working hard; having fun and stepping outside of your comfort zone!
Day 5
Celebrating you
RACE DAY) Show off your new skills at the MMSI gala — race hard, cheer loud and enjoy fast, fun swimming as you chase those all-important final points to be crowned the camp champions!
We’ll wrap up with some special awards, including: Swimmer of the Camp, Learner of the Camp and the Tracey Weightman Award.
By the end of the week, you’ll leave with the mindset and skills to continue growing as both an athlete and an individual, along with some amazing new memories and friendships. And that’s why MMSI is trusted by families across the UK and internationally as one of the very best swim training camps for teens.
